Club update 21.5.21

Step 3 of the UK Government roadmap for easing pandemic restrictions in England came into effect on May 17th and the following club guidelines are based on the government guidelines found here and here. The NFAS continues to recommend that archery can continue only if risk assessments have been completed prior to the activity and where social distancing can be observed.

The club is open for Wednesday grounds maintenance and Sunday shooting, provided all members attending understand and follow the current risk assessment and guidelines as set out below. If government guidelines change before the club website can be updated then government guidelines take precedence.

REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST HAVE A VALID NFAS MEMBERSHIP CARD IN ORDER TO SHOOT

The latest risk assessment will remain in force until further guidance is received:

Club guidelines from 17th May:

  • Although the strict requirement of a minimum of 2m (6ft) [or 1m+ (3ft+) with additional precautions, e.g. no direct face to face conversation] has been relaxed when meeting with friends, and the outdoor environment reduces the risk of virus transmission, social distancing when mixing with others outside your household is still recommended.
  • The maximum number of people who may meet in a single group is strictly limited to 30.
  • It is up to each individual to consider the risks to themselves and others, being respectful of any concerns of others, and exercise caution when meeting as a group.
  • Archers should be mindful of what shared surfaces are touched and maintain regular hand-sanitisation when attending the club – please supply your own hand sanitiser.
  • The practice range is now open for general use bearing in mind the above points.
  • Containers may be occupied by a maximum of SIX people at a time provided the door is kept open for ventilation.

Anyone that has been in recent contact with someone who has, or is suspected as having, Covid-19 must not attend the club grounds (recent contact means within the previous 10 days).

Do not attend club/woods/shoots if you have symptoms of Covid-19, such as a new and persistent cough, a temperature, or loss or change to the sense of taste and/or smell.

Due to the variety of other symptoms reported recently as possibly associated with the virus, as a precaution it is advised that you also do not attend the club/woods/shoots should you start feeling at all unwell in any other way.

All of the above is subject to change at any time.

Thank you for following the guidelines and continuing to support the club.

Chris (on behalf of KLFA committee)
